If you're trading CFDs on eToro, the minimum trade size depends on the asset type and leverage also plays a big part. For stocks, cryptocurrencies and ETFs, the lowest accepted investment size is just $10, while for forex, commodities and indices, the minimum is $1,000.

eToro's minimum trade size per asset class
Asset Class Minimum Trade Size
Stocks $10
Crypto $10
Currencies (Forex) $1,000
Commodities $1,000
Indices $1,000
ETFs $10

Heads up: CFD trading isn’t available in every country or region, so check your local restrictions before getting started.

How Leverage Comes Into Play

Those numbers? They refer to the total position size including leverage. So, let’s say you’re trading oil (a commodity CFD) with 10x leverage. You’d only need to put in $100 to control a $1,000 position or exposure.

I'd like to give an emphasis to this: leverage cuts both ways. It can increase your returns, but it can also magnify losses just as fast. So make sure you’re clear on the risks before jumping in.
