To verify your eToro account, you need to provide both a proof of identity (POI) and a proof of address (POA). This verification process is a must to comply with financial regulations and to get full access to everything the platform offers.
For POI, you’ll need to upload a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID. That means a passport, driver’s license, or national ID card.
Make sure your full name, date of birth, photo, issue date, and expiry date are all clearly visible. No blurring. No cropping. The entire document should be in focus, edge to edge.
Your POA document needs to match your name and current home address and be dated within the last three months. Acceptable documents include:
Tip: Snap or scan the full document on a background that contrasts with the paper. All four corners must be visible. No fold-overs and no snips.
Just log in to your eToro trading account (web or app) and upload your POI and POA from the verification section. It usually takes up to three business days for the team to review everything. Once approved, you’ll see a green checkmark next to your username. This means you're verified and good to go.
Now if your docs get declined, don’t worry. eToro will email you with complete details of what went wrong and what to fix. Make sure eToro’s emails don’t end up in your spam. I recommend that you add them to your safe sender list.
